Smarter Event Management

Event Wax makes organising events quicker, easier, and an all round more pleasurable experience. It establishes an online presence for any event, allowing people to register and keep track of their tickets, and for you to easily track who's attending, all via a simple web interface.

Perfectly suited to conferences, workshops, courses, and any other event where communication with attendees is key to its success, Event Wax is currently free to use.

How It Works

  • Once you’ve signed up for an account you can then add events to it by filling in details such as name, location, dates, etc. It’s all very straightforward.
  • Event Wax will then set up an event admin area for you where you can keep track of bookings and keep in contact with attendees.
  • If you choose, you can also establish different ticket types (such as “Members only pass” or “Early bird discount”).
  • A customisable web site for your event will also be created, from which attendees can register (and pay online, if necessary) straight away. Alternatively, you can just link to the registration pages directly from your own web site.
  • For the day of the event, you can print or otherwise export any information you want - entire attendee lists, details of personal preferences etc.

And there's more to come: The next version of Event Wax is currently in development, offering more power, more features, and an even easier to use interface!

Event Wax History

Our first @media conference was (pleasantly) surprisingly successful. It fast became a core part of the business as it grew, with the following year's conference attracted more than twice as many attendees.

The initial method of keeping track of delegates with a rudimentary spreadsheet, manual invoicing, and notes scribbled all over the place, simply wasn't going to cut the mustard, so we built a system (that we called "Powwow") to automate many of the tasks, and further enabling us to offer extra benefits both to ourselves as the organisers, and to the attendees.

Powwow was a valuable tool for ourselves, but it was clearly apparent that such a system would be useful to others as well.

Event Wax started as a side-project for the founders of Vivabit. It was born from a combination of extensive web design and development experience, and the event management experience inadvertently (but enthusiastically) relatively recently acquired.

Event Wax turned out rather well, and is now used for hundreds of events every month, including all @media conferences.
